Bright Beginnings manages two Family Support & Resource Centers in Hillsborough County.

Bright Beginnings manages the Family Support & Resource Centers in Brandon and North Tampa.  These neighborhood-based centers were established to meet the needs of all families, offering universal access to services and programs free of charge.

The family support philosophy is part of a national movement to encourage the best possible development of children, youth and adults by strengthening and empowering families and communities.  Bright Beginnings hopes to support this movement by offering a wide spectrum of services for families that directly reflect the needs of the community.

The Family Support & Resource Centers in Brandon and North Tampa offer many opportunities for children, teens, and parents in a warm, caring and respectful environment.  Our gracious staff welcomes all individuals and helps families build relationships that will, in turn, strengthen our community.

Services Available Include:

• Play Groups for Children focusing on Brain Development
• Car Seat Safety
• Health and Safety Classes
• Tutoring & Homework Assistance for School Readiness and Success
• FCAT Preparation
• College Preparation for Students
• Employability Workshops, with One-on-One Consultations available
• Financial Literacy Workshops
• Computer Classes, for Basic & Intermediate Levels
• Tax Season Assistance
• English as a Second Language Class
• GED Classes

The Family Support & Resource Centers function as a strong, collaborative partnership between the following agencies: Bright Beginnings, The Children’s Board of Hillsborough County, Healthy Start Coalition of Hillsborough County, Inc., The Children’s Home, Inc., Child Abuse Council, Inc., St. Joseph’s Children’s Advocacy Center, Allegany Franciscan Ministries and Catholic Charities.

The Family Support & Resource Centers are funded locally, by The Children’s Board of Hillsborough County.  The Healthy Start Coalition serves as the lead agency for the Family Support & Resource Centers in Hillsborough County.
