Family Support and Resource Centers:
Neighborhood based centers that provide education and family support
services to the community. The Centers provide programming that enhance
the lives of children and their families in a warm, caring and
respectful environment. Basic programming includes child development,
health and safety and self-sufficiency.

Self-sufficiency:
A
county-wide initiative that enhances a family stability and success.
Family self-sufficiency is viewed as a continuum beginning with
programming targeting school success for young and middle school age
children and college preparation for older children. Education efforts
are continued through basic education, computer and life skills training
and job development, as well as financial literacy and competency for

Healthy Families:
A voluntary home visitation program designed to promote optimal health, developmental and behavioral outcomes for children in Hillsborough County. Services are provided pre-natal or at birth and can continue through the first five years of a child’s life. Bright Beginnings Teen Prevention Program:
